It's that time of year again! I have around 100 pounds of foreign coins and I card up enough to hand out at Halloween instead of candy. The kids enjoy it and that is what counts.

We have a group of that sits on our driveway, with multiple candy bowls for the kids, and beer and margies for the adult chaperones.

I said that last year and was accused of being paranoid. I prefer to think of it as being security conscience.

Really?? Handing out nickels or dimes on Halloween could get you robbed??? Sorry... I think that is a real stretch... and I am very security conscious. Cheers, RickO

Do you really think it's a good idea to tell everyone in your neighborhood that you're a coin collector?

<< <i>What's worse on your teeth, a Butterfinger or a Pfennig? Sounds like a nice idea. I once got a quarter and some pennies, and I never forgot that. >>
Back in the 50s when I was trick-or-treating, I remember clearly one house that was giving away pennies.
You picked a paper slip from a bowl and whatever number was on it, that's how many pennies you got.
This was back in the day when penny candy still sold for a penny.
I think I got 3¢.
After all these years, I still remember that particular "treat".
I guess if this was to be nowadays, you'd have to give out dimes at least!
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

As a journeyman candy consumer i feel pretty confident in saying there's not many candies available for a dime , a dime these days could be the equivilant of " i got a rock "

But if it's an Obama costume, then they get nothing...
...come on now - it was a joke...it was only a joke.
