Prime example of why I no longer frequent ebay. Sure, the occasional deal pops up, and there are some good sellers on there.. but just wading through the crap is discouraging. Cheers, RickO
eBay does have some reputable dealers--I think Barry Stuppler, former ANA President, has a site there, for instance.
The ones to avoid often times will tell you up front by their use of Engrish or by giving away their poor knowledge or shady nature. This guy seems ready to sell a Secretariat commemorative, honoring "the most-est horse." He also admits to cleaning it and freely demonstrates he does not have the foggiest idea how wrong that is in numismatics. That, and he's trying to pawn off what is at best a slightly interesting error coin, more likely an odd toning on an otherwise common circulated modern, and almost certainly something that the grading services would send back error code 79: What Were You Thinking?!?
