I need some help.
To me, this bar does not look like it should for being a 7 oz engelhard.
7 oz bar on eBay
When you compare it to this bar that sold awhile back on eBay
one that sold a few weeks back
and to the example for the specific style on about ag website (weight first)
scroll down to the specific 7 oz one that is being compared to the active one on eBay
It just doesn't look the same, it doesn't even look lke silver to me. Look at the upper left and lower right lines of the rectangle that goes around Engelhard, then look at those same areas on the completed eBay one and trhe example shown on about ag website. They don't match with the active one. I think the font and just about everything else is comparable, but not those specific rectangle lines in the areas I pointed out.
CaptHenway has a thread going here about fake 100 oz'ers that have very simliar characteristics as the active 7 oz'er on eBay.
What do you all think?

In my opinion, genuine and quite scarce. Similar to this 10 oz.
The Ag website is superb as a reference but it takes a while for new examples to be added when they turn up.

I have owned a few of the 4 and 7 oz bars. I even made a video of the 5 piece set a few years ago.
About the 3:30 mark
Bar looks legit to me.
But the experts here conclude so far that it's the real deal. I guess we'll see what it ends up going for compared to the one a few weeks ago in a bit.
The bar is real ..... but man, was it poured "cold".
I agree with NumbersUsacom .... poor stamping and
poor casting just kills the appeal of this bar.
Wait for a better bar!

Agree. Who want to pay that kind of premium for an "ENGE ARD" bar?
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
