Got the bug again.

Well It's been almost 2 years, that I sold my early MS Lincoln collection. I sold from 1909-1928.
I MISS those coins. The funds went to a great cause! I bought the Bass boat of my dreams, so no regrets.
But MAN I miss those coins.
I still have 1929/58, but coins have been on the back burner for a few years.
OH my, things have changed. Slabs with shields on them, little green stickers, and MS 64+...
I get most of it, but have a question? Do you have to use the Secure Plus service to get a MS + , or is the + now just standard grading?
Well now, I guess I have 2 more questions. lol. When I join Collectors Club, and get my vouchers, what service level are they? Is the + service included in this?
SO....
With the spike in silver prices, my interest has turned to those big old Silver Dollars. I have been buying
common date Morgans in PCGS MS 64.
I found a shop, that has common date GSA's for $210 out the door. (1882,1883,1884)
I have seen them for 175/200 on the ebay, but I like cash and carry. They look like 63/64 ish.
I'm new to these. Should I send them to PCGS, or leave them as is? I know if I send them across the street they will grade them in the GSA holder, but won't back the grade.

Thanks

If they really are MS63 or better, then I would still send them to NGC. Regardless of their guarantee, a NGC GSA CC will usually fetch more than a PCGS one with a GSA pedigree on the label since many people value the original black holders.

Welcome back... GSA Morgans are fun to collect... do the complete CC series...(Tough, but fun). Cheers, RickO
  • I was also curious about the + designation.
Is this only on secure plus submissions?

The + grade is standard and is used on coins that PCGS believes just missed the next grade up.
