This is stupid. Sorry, no gentle way to put it. This is the kind of behavior you expect from a 5-year old who knocks over Mom's favorite lamp and then hides the pieces in the closet expecting nobody to notice.
So your car was broken into and a bunch of stuff got stolen. What's to be embarrassed about? Why not come on the board the next day or whatever and post a scan of the police report? Nope, you decided to not contact people.
And to top it off, you let the guys know you had their stuff back - and then waited nearly another 3 months to get their cards back to them after saying you'd return them right away? Gimme a break.
You've got a lot of stuff to be embarrassed about, that's for sure. Your car getting broken into ain't one of those things.

I made a pretty terrible purchase and didn't know how to handle it so I just said I received an empty box... I'm sure most of you remember that one.
As Steve said... It's over, stop heckling the guy.
If he provided the police report to the members and they are OK with the situation then there is probably a reason for for them being OK with it (and I'm sure it's not just because cards were returned)...
