Suspects Arrested

The Runnells County Sheriff's Department in Texas has arrested four suspects for 1st Degree Felony Theft greater than $100,000 from an elderly person.

The investigation so far shows that the victim's information was sold to suspects by a coin telemarketer who previously worked for a coin business in Beaumont, Texas. The main suspect presented himself as the sales person to the victim. The victim had spoken to the salesman several times over the course of 21/2 years.

The suspects went to the victim's residence on the pretense of helping her to arrange and inventory her coins and to help figure out which coins could be sold to pay off a debt. The suspects visited the victim's residence on three different occasions. It is believed that the coins were taken on the first visit.

The coins were shipped to a Minnesota coin firm and purchased from the suspects. Several coins have been recovered and the coin firm is cooperating with local law enforcement.

The suspects have been identified as;

Thomas R. Eckert Ryan Brent Lambeth
Justin O'Neal William Michael O'Connor

All four suspects are from the Beaumont, Texas area. The suspects have only been arrested and not convicted at this time."

P.S.
Salesmen from the outfit in Beaumont call me often. It's nice to know that one of their salesmen sold clients personal info to crooks.

If anything, the Feds should take hold of this prosecution on a RICO ACT indictment, and put these guys away for a long time on a conspiracy conviction. Especially the ex-sales rep.* from the Beaumont organization.

I hope they fry them but

most likely the victim will die before they go to trail and the charges will be dissmised or reduced. The coin firm in Minnesota will end up in the hole. In the off chance they go to prison they will be released after 90 days due to overcrowding.image

<< <i>How can we find out the name of the 2 companies? >>

Who was the texas dealer is what I want to know.

(And potentially the MN one if they got a "steal" because that'd fall into the "too good to be true, too good to be legal" category)

I wonder if anyone can request a copy of the police report....

I was assuming that the Texas dealer is one of the largest national gold telemarketers. I don't know about the MN dealer.

Target marketing to marketing target. Seems like job protection for 2 industries, both of which sell out humanity.
  • Hope this is of some help. Individuals discussed here (suspects) worked for the International Trading Company of Lumberton, Texas. Supposedly it was their own coin company.. It had a BBB rating of 'F' which is typical in most of these cases. Here is the link to the BBB rating: [http://www.bbb.org/southeast-texas/business-reviews/coin-dealers-supplies-etc/international-trading-company-in-lumberton-tx-90051491]

Got to appreciate the great work that Doug Davis of the Numismatic Crime Information Center is doing in keeping us all informed on these matters. Many kudos!

  • If they or any business keeps calling you just request that they put you on the 'Do Not Call list.' Most complanies seem to have that now days. I know when i see one of those annoying calls that are these people trying to sell me every type of insurance known to man - I can see it on my caller ID and i just don't even answer them.
