I guess the most amazing thing about it is the price tag for such an error that
appears to be quite limited in discoveries.
Don't do proofs......had to draw a line somewhere.

It would have to be a 1775 dime to get me to pay $350,000 for it.

lmo, no, not here
<< <i>On one hand, with 2 known, you could argue that this coin is better than a 1913 Liberty nickel. On the other hand, you could argue that there might be 10 more sitting in someone' safe deposit box undiscovered in a proof set, right where they've been since 1975. There is some downside risk for the owner of this coin. >>
I agree, there could be many more lurking.
The 1913 nickel has alot of history and hype behind it. I wonder how the price of this coin compares to the value of a 36 year old 1913 Liberty nickel in 2011 dollars?
Interesting that Louis Eliasberg purchased his nickel in 1948 from Abe Kosoff and Eric Newman. I can't find what he paid for it, but it sold for $1,840,000 in 1996.

Why not?
It is one of a kind and there ARE two of the 1975 No S Roosevelts.
Been that way for 40 years which is longer than the 1975 No S Proof Set (36 years).
