Ill take a guess. It looks to be MS 61-62 with what could be a 2nd tone. BTW I like it!

When I see those lighter areas around the devises I tend to feel that its toned for the second time. Of course I could be wrong.

I'd say the coin grades MS-63 or 64. It's really impossible to pin point the grade on a toned coin from a photo.

As to the color, it may or may not be original. I'm not saying "AT," but I have seen dipped coins become "original again" if you know what I mean. The term can also be "original now." I'm not saying that's the case, but it's a possibility.

The color looks odd, but I just got a new monitor, so it may be on my end.

I say cleaned and retoned. The light centers and the darker edges are not natural looking in my opinion.

Otherwise speaking it looks like a nice 58-62

As most have said, the coin looks like it has been
retoned - but I like the rim toning and I think its NT,
but, I saw were some hairlines in the OBV fields which
would drop it to an AU 58 - because I'm giving the coin
the benefit of the doubt, and I'll say these are circulation marks.

As Dimeman said... I like it alot !!

  • In comparison to what I have seen out there, not too shabby. Nice strike. Looks like a MS62-63 I see some lite marks covered with toning, mark on the right of the stars. I like the toning regardless of it's possible dipping in the past.

Thanks everyone for the opinions. I guess I'm not too surprised about the MS grades from the pics,
but being conservative about raw coins I pegged it at AU-58 with a chance at low MS.

I agree with the statements about surface quality, although I've checked this coin up and down and
have not found any hairlines. And I could agree that this coin has a "secondary toning" to it, but the
eye-appeal is a bit better than what is shown in the photo.

I'd be ecstatic if it came back MS since I bought it for EF-45 money (although I knew the coin was
better than that when I purchased it!)
