ebay fees: auction vs. fixed price/buy it now or best offer

So, when you do a But it Now, but allow a Best Offer, and the coin sells for the Best Offer, is that considered an auction style format or a fixed price format? On coins worth several hundred dollars, fixed price seems the way to go, considering auction style charges you 9% up to $1,000, but it's nice to allow a Best offer in case the item doesn't sell. Thoughts?

It's fixed price format since best offer is only available with fixed price format.
