I always wonder about this time of year. Historically, October tends to hold some surprises for the Stock Market, and usually they are not the good kind of surprises.
The reason I am intrigued with this tendency of the stock market to have dramatic moves in October is psychological. It always seems that the first cold snap at the end of summer brings a bit of reality back into focus, but the real changes occur when the weather starts getting rainy and cooler, the leaves start falling and when the skies get gray. I really do think that it changes investing patterns.
I think that it's about that realization that summer is finally gone and a brief bout of depression sets in. It's a sobering effect. After a few weeks of transition, the opportunity for precious metals presents itself when the rain clears up and the days become crisp, and bright. Then we get another dose of bouyancy in the pre-Christmas holiday runup. After that, it's back to business.
I'm guessing that this year will be a classic in that sense.

Knowledge is the enemy of fear
<< <i>There may be some psychological issues surrounding October. But did you know, that this week--usually the 19th to 25th of Sept--is historically the market's weakest. And that Sept 19th is historically the weakest day of the entire year? >>
Wish you would have told me that LAST week
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
either way, here's the buying opportunity. enjoy!
