no, you're passing a little sandspur which feels like a spiked bowling ball going through a straw. Never had one but have seen hundreds of people that have being in the medical field.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then question the manner in which I provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!

Make sure you go to the hospital and get shot up with morphine and get prescribed a few days worth of nasty narcotics and you'll be just fine.
Seriously, been there done that-those little guys hurt like all hell!
Make sure you let the docs know if you think your getting an infection. Feel better.
Worst was one that was shaped exactly like a fish hook, barb and all. Took three days for that one
to get through (hospital days). When it passed I just konked out for 12 hours!
Good luck and find out what is causing them! Then get off the cause to eliminate the effect!

I've never talked to anyone that had an easy time with one.
If you have one it's a good time to have Auction Sniper for your ebay bids.

Yep. Me too. Now you'll have a better understanding of what childbirth feels like (or so I'm told).

This is a hilarious title. I almost expected the text to say something to the effect of "Now post a coin with stone colored toning."
.
starting out in numismatics coming on 3 years ago this winter/spring
there have been numerous (12-15) i've bought and would have like to have passed in retrospect, but did learn valuable lessons
happens very rarely now though for numerous reasons
there are also many i'd like to have back and sold too quick to raise cash and lack of experience, wait never heard anyone say they want a k-stone back!

Sorry to hear of your pain - you seem to be in good company here on the forum.

Avoid draft beer and MGD as both contain oxalate which is a contributor to stones. At least that is what I was told by a nephrologist at Mayo. I passed one which was mostly calcium oxalate. Never knew what it was until I went to the doc afterwards.
the painful part is between the kidney and the bladder. The ureter is just not large enough for even small stones.
As mentioned already, they can take days to pass, you are in pain until you barf and the barfing doesn't help the pain go away, and the intensity of the pain is like childbirth. It's nothing like it is portrayed in the movies or on tv. It is much worse.
<< <i>it's either that or surgery and they rarely ever do surgery for these since they seem to either pass or can be broken up via ultrasound and those pieces (hopefully) pass.

One guy countered the childbirth thing by saying "obviously madam, you have never been kicked in the ba!!$"

So, it's trying to pass through your willy, and that makes you barf? And then you pee it out? My God, i don't feel good....

No. That is the easy part. When it passes from the kidney to the bladder thru the ureter is when you get the puker pain.

i'll just add some thoughts as I think of it if the thread continues...this may seem hard to believe but when the pain and bleeding is there, it usually means the stone is trying to move or is moving slightly. It really does help to do some very "moderate" jumping so to speak to get the stone moving downward...be very, very careful...I mean ya don't want to rupture an achilles tendon, blow out a knee or hip joint...but I find doing some moderate jumping and body movements on a rug to cushion the jumping a bit, does definitely help. Most think this "jumping" doesn't help because the stone may be still stuck and not moving...but the key is getting it to move in as large an increment as possible each time it does move, and the olive oil treatment helps greatly to lessen the pain.
Note that a stuck stone can become inflammed and cause great pain as well, but I've found that the stuck stone is slightly uncomfortable but doesn't cause any significant pain...In my opinion, the pain and inflammation of a stuck stone is often caused caused by "carelessness." Most don't realize that stones can grow while in the ureter because subsequent smaller stones can attach to it and solidify. So when you've got a stuck stone, you really need to completely, and I mean completely, change your diet to a total kidney stone diet which can be found on various websites, so at least the stuck stone won't grow any larger, and gives your body the best chance to pass it.
The one post is right about the long term effects of beer...and I've never tried this, but when the stone is moving as just mentioned, drinking a few beers could very well be helpful to move the stone downward, basically because it increases urine flow. But again, I've done extensive reading and research on this, and I believe the olive oil/lemon juice formula is the best treatment for a stone which has a chance to pass...plus lemon juice and olive oil are two of the best foods a body can enjoy...it's great type of body flush in any event anyway, besides for kidney stones.
And don't fear the bleeding...an excellent urologist told me it is basically impossible (paraphrase)...to hemorrhage from kidney stone bleeding. Well, that's all I can think of for now...perhaps another post may trigger more info that I remember.
<< <i>sounds like you are nearing a percocet moment. Ouch! >>
Nah hes ready for vicodin land.
Cranberries are another natural food that is absolutely great for the body. I have to ask why some of the greatest, healthiest foods for ya, lemon juice, olive oil and cranberries, to me taste awful. Why can't chocolate be a great cure for kidney stones? LOL
Unfortunately, chocolate is right up there as a leading cause of kidney stones.
