Since you mention Big Bubba Rogers,, I have to ask if his first card as the Big Boss Man is also considered a rookie card.

Nick I really don't know. I read something one time on the Beckett site debating that in regards to Steve Austin.

In all honesty I would think the first time they appear on a card would be the rookie. Obviously with wrestling they had name changes or different gimmicks but to me the first card is the first card no matter what.

  • I have a Steve Lombardi rookie in EX-MT, is that worth anything? I would think it's worth something because it's before he became the Brooklyn Brawler.
  • The wrestling cards are always nice to see. Always looking at the cards people typically collect here(of where there are ten million copies of each), gets boring. It is a breath to see some 'new blood'.

Also, the people that believe in the pure sanctity of professional sports...you got another thing coming. It isn't as far off from the WWE as you think. I wonder how many NBA games you guys gave your blood, sweat, and tears to that were fixed by the refs, LOL!
Are you sure about that five minutes!?
  • The way Lebron was flopping during the playoffs, it reminded me alot of pro wrestling !!!
Any team on any given Sunday, can beat any other team...unless they were playing the Miami Dolphins in 1972.
  • I have an event worn Hawaiian shirt that Special Delivery Jones gave me after a match at the Baltimore Civic Center. He didn't wear it during the match but he was during his ring entrance. What's something like that worth?

Lee your posts are barely worth responding to.

If indeed their is an ounce of truth to your claim about SD Jones ring atire, I am sure to someone it would be worth something.

The Brawler card might be worth $0.0000001.

A having shots with Larry Zybsko sounds about right, the guy is buddies with Scott Hall and lives just outside of Orlando. Anyone who hangs with Scott Hall definately gets their party on.

  • Dpeck,

If CdsNuts is being sincere, how would those even be authenticated? I would think that some things like clothing, or a mask, that the wrestlers give to kids when they enter or leave the ring would have some good value...but I think it would be hard identifying them.

I wish I knew that the wrestling cards were around....before you started posting about them. They are pretty cool, and they were very cheap not too long ago. I like that they weren't produced with artificial rarity like the modern inserts, because artifcial rarity won't hold its value over the long haul. The only thing that could hurt them is if a big stash is found.

Junkyard Dog once loaned me a bottle of NoDoz, which I forgot to return to him.
(Sorry about that, brother - RIP)

I still have the bottle if anyone is interested.

Saberman there is a big market for ring worn attire. I have no interest in it but those that do pay big bucks. In terms of authentication many times when I have seen them sold on EBAY they show a picture of them with the wrestling and then many times have the item signed.

In some cases I am sure people end up buying reproductions at high prices but I would suspect a lot of it floating around is real.

The big stash of the Wrestling All Stars has already been found. It was the unsold merhcandise that Wrestleprints has sold and still has a few remaining.

even if that attire is from a 1980's WWF jobber like Brian "The Crippler" Costello? I used to (sort of) work with him. He did MC/PR work for the minor league baseball team in South Bend when I worked in the front office there a few years ago. He's still IAW champ! Speaking of 1980's WWF jobbers, wonder what Barry O is up to these days.....
  • That's great info on the SD Jones shirt. Also, it has a black and greyish smudge on it. I'm thinking it could be makeup from either Ax or Smash since Demolition was on that same card. Do you think this would add value?

I sent off six Andre The Giant's and they are in process.

A board member sold me a magazine off EBAY and I found the Andre The Giant photo that was used for the Wrestling All Stars card. It is obvioulsy the cropped photo on the progam I posted earlier but the actual photo comes from a tag match with Dusty Rhodes in the Mid South Wrestling Association.

If anyone ever finds a program from Mid South with Andre and Dusty on it with tag belts please let me know as I would love to add that to my magazine collection from the set.

I will post the grades when they pop in a week and a half or so.
