<< <i>Jerry can't hold a candle to Mick Taylor's slide guitar, nor shake his hips like Mick Jagger can...

really? <--This is Jerry Garcia on pedal steel guitar. Most beautiful bit I can recall. >>

To keep this Europe '72-related image ,
Here is a link to Looks Like Rain from City Hall, Newcastle, England, 4/11/72, featuring Jerry on the steel guitar and a soulful rendition of the lyrics by Bobby (who did NOT blow any of the lines image ), for my forum Deadhead friends to enjoy, courtesy of ryk. image

Thanks to RYK, I got to listen to some of the songs from that 1972 grateful dead box set- Sounds really good!! I might have to pick up some of this myself... image
My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable !
  • I'm really "in the zone" when I'm ogling a crusty, fresh Dahlonega piece and listening to: (a) Fire on the Mountain (The Marshall Tucker Band) or (b) Gold Dust Woman (Fleetwood Mac).

I suspect I listen to the usual mix of music. Beirut, Buell Kazee, Elliott Smith, Gillian Welch, Kate Wolf, Memphis Jug Band, Neutral Milk Hotel, Ola Belle Reed, Algebra One, Animal Collective, Best Coast, Will Oldham, Songs Ohia, Camera Obscura, The Make Up, Damien Jurado, Hunx and his Punx, Iron & Wine, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Joe Pernice, Little Wings, Man Man, Mose Allison, 16 Horsepower, and whatever else I feel like listening to.

I could never get down to a box of 22. I have about 400 tapes + another 100 JGB.
    I collect circulated U.S. silver
