I think it will vary from person to person. I would be more curious to see what percentage of everyones net worth is tied up in PMs? Right now for me....its 20%. (Im talking liquid assetts)

I'd consider more silver than one is able to carry at once quite a bit. 3-4x that I's say is "a lot".

Id say 5,000oz of silver and 100oz of gold are nice round numbers to consider "a lot"

I tend to agree with pokerman's reasoning:

A LOT of gold is more than you can hold in both cupped hands

A LOT of silver is more than you can carry by yourself

I like 5,000 and 100 as well. $200,000 (current value) in each is excellent wealth protection.

Completely depends on your net worth. The question that sets stackers apart from one another really is "what percentage of your net worth is PMs."

If one man is worth $1M and has $100k in PMs in my book he's not the quite the stacker as is another man with $50k in PMs and a net worth of only $200K.
