  • A very good silver art bar find for me today at a Georgia coin show................................

    image

It is a 1-oz "World Series 1978" silver art bar. It was minted in 1978 by a private company called The Mint. These are very hard to find at coin shows and the mintage number for this particular silver art bar is 150. Serial # 75 (of 150). I paid $60.00 for it today (spot closed today at $42.90/oz).

DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a '70's silver art bar expert but I try my best to play one on the Internet.

    Isn't that beautiful?

I bought a french coin too. One of my favorite desing and best face value around!
Though, it has a lot of hairlines. Don't know if it's the way it should be or not. I will check the other one I have.

Picked up these little guys. 2x 5gram JM, and two little 2.5 grams (each is actually 2.6g by my scale) both dated 1977 and with similar images of North America on the left obverse side with a star denoting where their respective cities are.

One reads: Operated by Carlin Gold Mining Company / Subsidary of Newmont Mining Company / 24k gold (copyright) FM 1977
Reverse reads: Blue Star with a star - Carlin, Nevada

Other reads: Owned by UV Industries, Inc. / 24k gold (copyright) FM 1977
Reverse reads: Continental / Grant, New Mexico

Never heard of them but they seem legit to me. Anyone know anything about them? Premium?
