<< <i>And he's selling the ONLY copy of PSA 10 '49 Bowman Keller
Neither Crandell, Merkel, Spence, or Fogel have that one yet because it's been sitting in the collection of this guy's computer-illiterate friend, LOL >>

I asked for a photo of the back of the 55 Aaron about 24 hours ago. I gave an explanation of even though it's a PSA 8 I still needed a certain looking back to fit my collection. Told him I'd pay big bucks if it was what I was looking for. Still no response.

Is it possible Ebay has left his auction up to run their course at the direction of law enforcement? Maybe they are giving the guy enough rope to hang himself so to speak?

    Hello,

Just a question....I do not belong to VCP,so do they have the Cert.number attached along with the sale price and date of sale,or however the data is shown.

If not,I think that would slow down the process of the thief's .

If someone could, what does the entry look like on any particular card.

    Hey Barry!

  • I bid $2300 each on 36 of his auctions.... should be interesting.
  • A CEO gets arrested for selling less than 15K in fake jerseys.....an eBay seller gets a "no longer a registered user" for scamming a group of people out of 100K plus. Fantastic!

    Thanks BBG for the response

  • For what it's worth, I did contact maraya who I had bought from before and had the Keller listed on his website. He actually sold that several years ago, so it is conceivable that it isn't a fake. Maybe I'll ask him for a scan of the back of the card. If he had it, he could certainly produce it.

I did also notice that for some of the ones on other auctions sites that have the front/back of card, he has scans of the front and back.

Wonder if he'll leave a neg after payment is not received. LOL

If I had a secondary ebay account to use for bids I'd have won them all.

I gotta give billyd2008 credit where credit is due...most would be satisfied just listing one 1952 Mantle...this guy has got two listed, and high grade. He's got brass ones that's for sure. LOL

the 52 Mantle PSA 7 ended with the "Item is no longer available". Maybe someone took him up on his paypal gift offer? So he ended it early?

anyone bid on the 1961 Bowman Willie Mays yet? image
  • After I win the 52 Mantle, I'm going to send it back to PSA for a bump.

<< <i>The ebay username is also on okcupid.com and Youtube.com. The one on okcupid.com is from Waterloo,IA. The Youtube account videos look to be the same person. I'll be bidding on all the auctions before they close. image >>

Yea, just Google the username and waterloo...and there it is, first on Google search - I'd say the seller wanted potential buyers to find this info.
  • So, I looked at his youtube videos... He has just been posting videos in the last 5 days. To be honest, I'm a little concerned for him. He seems pretty depressed and potentially suicidal....

That video is quite scary. I'm not saying at all this is fact with him because I have no idea...but it's not uncommon for certain personality types along with being depressed over financial matters, to steal money in some way...Iowa has a number of casinos...bring the money in there and put it all down on the craps or roulette table...win big and believe that the money problems can be solved...lose it all and it could be what you mentioned. I think this is a very bad situation here.

This is fact - gambling addiction has a higher suicide rate than any other addiction, including drugs or alcohol.

On that website under "My self-summary" he lists the word or derivative of the word "honest" at least five times in his description.

What a fruit loop. Perhaps he's setting up a future insanity defense, or maybe he will take the stolen proceeds and hop a plane to Vegas, living it up Nic Cage style.

That is good - some of those auctions got completed though, and hopefully no buyer will get burned...we shall see if/when the negs appear.

All of the completed auctions are gone too. Anyone who hadn't paid can't pay now.

  • To be fully prosecuted, I would think that someone paying him for one of those closed auctions would help the case / up the charges. Perhaps they waited for the winner of one of the earlier auctions to submit a Paypal payment before they pulled the plug on the rest. The second that money went out, felony grand theft, game over.

    Just a thought.
