I was in my local B&M shop today. It was very busy buying and selling PM. I have known the owner for more than 20 years and during a lull I was talking to him about which of the 1 oz gold coins sells better. He said that the AGE sells the best. He gets $75 over spot for AGEs, the Maple, Phili and Aussi he sells at $55-65 over spot and the K-rand a little lower depending on his supply. He said the Phili and Aussi Nuget/Roo are the hardest of the four to sell and slow movers The AGE has the best market followed by the K-Rand and the Maple. He said the Maple scratches very easy and he does not like dealing with them. He said many other dealers feel the same way.. The Aussi and Phili are harder to sell and move much slower. His buy back for the AGE is spot and he buys behind spot for the best.
So, if I want to have a bullion coin that is easy to sell, and has a decent spread should I stick with the AGE? Is it true that the Maples are harder to sell if they have any surface issues and if so, how do you keep them from being damaged?

Wow, I agree 100% with Baley for once
I'd say top four easiest to sell are AGEs, Maples, Krands, and Phils. Can't go wrong getthing a combo of those four.
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.

why care?...1 oz is 1 oz
In Italy people who invest in gold usually buy the 20 Lire and Sovereigns.
In the US it makes sense to buy AGEs, IMO.
