First, a big thank you to Michael for putting the group sub together. Second, this is the first time any of my cards have been subjected to the infamous "GRADER 185".....

For comparison, here is the original slab info and the minimum grades I requested:
1965 Topps Joe Morgan BVG 7 - min grade 7
1979 Topps Ozzie Smith BVG 8 - min grade 8
1978 Topps Tony Dorsett BVG 8 - min grade 8
1981 Topps Joe Montana SGC 88 - min grade 8
2003 Bowman Chrome Gold Refractor Chris Simms SGC 98 - no min grade (looks like PSA missed this one)

I had told Michael that I was hoping 2 of the 4 that I wanted a min grade would cross and was very surprised that 3 of the 4 did. I am not sure however how I feel about the PSA 9 OC Ozzie Smith. Qualifiers bug me so I think I might have preferred to keep the BVG 8.


Finally, here are the notes from my PM to Michael on my expectations:
I really liked that Morgan card. I thought it had a shot at an 8 when I first got it raw.

I really don't expect the Ozzie to have a prayer as I cracked it out of BCCG 9 so getting a BVG 8 was probably already a gift.

The Montana will be an interesting case. I think it is graded right but decided to throw it in as IMO, PSA is not as hard on centering on this card and the corners are easily 8ish.

No idea on the Tony D. Just was looking for a card to reach my 5.

The Simms was an eBay purchase that cracked in delivery. It will go in my Longhorn rookie collection.

VCP accidentally has card #177 (Ryan RC) for that $300 sale. They also have a 1965 Topps #477 (Carlton RC) as a previous sale.

The Moss they change their tune on, but they don't like it as it was a hand-numbered replacement I think (2nd attempt, first time raw). All were BGS 9.5's.

Shipment from PSA arrived this afternoon. I have everything packed up and I am heading to the PO in the morning. Look for your cards in the mail by mid-week.

Also, I will send you a note regarding how much each of you owes. I want to base it on actual shipping charges, so I'll jot down those figures when I'm at the PO tomorrow. The shipping charges from my original package to PSA will be allocated to you based on # of cards you submitted.
