Does anyone have a picture of Izzy Switt?
I've never seen one, but I have an image of him as a short, balding, slightly hunched-over, 50-something guy wearing his pants too high and chomping on a wet cigar all day long. That's the stereotypical old-school Arch Street jewelry, coin dealer.
I couls see Danny DeVito play him in the movie, "Izzy's Switt's Excellent Adventure."
If you have a pic of him, POST it please. I googled his name and there were lots of coins and a pic of Richard Nixon!
Izzy didn't look that that putz!

When you google his name it lists this photo on s site written by a Leon Worden site where he interviews Barry Berke regarding the case with a caption below the photo that says it is, Sainty how do you knopw it isn't Izzy's pic since I assume you are being forthright and don't have one at this time? >>
I would assume that the man with the large silver sombrero is indeed Mr. Switt.
I'm not MEAN. I'm just a powerful man of the pen.

I have what is supposed to be an image of a young Izzy handing over what is to be the last of the coins he ever surrendered.

His wife, Elizabeth, worked with him in the store. I would guess that that was her. Her brother, Edward Silver, was Switt's silent partner.

They say you can see full episodes on the site, but I can't find the full episode on this one.

And if you search Google images, you get Howlin' Wolf in the 2nd row.
Would Snoop Dogg call him "Izzizzy?"

<< <i>I saw a VERY interesting show, on the Smithsonian channel....titled 'Hunt for The Double Eagle'. Anyone else see it? Very interesting piece in the tracking down of the '33 Double Eagles. Seems the 'chief cashier' named George McCann admittited to stealing coins from the Mint in Philly, and did a year in the slammer..., linking him to Switt. VERY interesting piece, that doesn't seem to be on again anytime soon. Here's the link to a 50 second clip....I DO have it on the DVR, and have a DVD recorder, so......

That is interesting , very much so. I can't recall if it was mentioned in the copious threads surrounding these coins that the cashier from the phillie mint done time in the pokey for nicking coins.

<< <i>How about Ned Beatty, then? >>
Judging by that pic, yes, Ned looks like him.
But to capture his persona it's still DeVito!
How about Loretta Swit? Close enough?
