Are they still popular?

I collected a few years back but only have 3 or 4 of them but thinking to get back into it.
They are raw and I really didn't want them graded I prefer them in the mint capsule.

I also did some research on the early proofs.......woa, they became expensive. Am I too late for the game?
Or do you think they will continue to rise in value, besides bullion

I collect the 1 troy ounce bullion gold panda series and keep up with the issues every year. I, too, collect them in their mint holders. The prices have indeed gone up crazy for older issues of the pandas mostly due to the different varieties identified and the TPG slabbing. There is a thread on Kitco where a few people have pursued this and seem to be making quite a profit on the silver pandas.

My 15-year-old son has a complete set of the standard issue 1 oz silver 10 Yuan Pandas, which he assembled over the last 8 years or so. He has watched with a certain amount of glee as the prices have gone crazy. I have warned him to enjoy the ride while it lasts...!

Panda's in general have gone crazy, especially the 1 oz and 5 oz issues. I'm not getting into them, but think there are plenty of money-making possibilities if you know what you are doing.

a 2005 in a capsule still in the blister plastic
a 2010 and 2011

I checked out the first few issues of 1983 and 84 and thought (woah, too much $$$) I would rather collect kangaroos, koalas and kookaburras

I had a complete run of all the proofs as well as all the reg issue coins in the 1oz silver panda series. I have since sold them off. The prices got a bit overheated for my taste. I miss them a little and was fortunate to have video taped my proof collection. Enjoy!

I was thinking my MS69 Pandas were slightly undervalued in the PCGS guide at $35.
This thread prompted me to search ebay for completed auction prices.
I see they are closing around $90 now.

I think I have 4-5 2005s from a bulk lot I purchased eons ago....they were about $40 the last time I looked, but now it looks like APMEX has them at around $129!!!

Nothing like an newly-afluent Chinese pop. to drive prices up.

They are very cool. I had the full run from 2000 to 2011 then I sold them all and kept just the 1989.
I am still buying some gold Pandas and would love one Pt and one Pd.

They have beautiful designs but are becoming too expensive for me.

The commemoratives have lower mintages. Here is a link ATS for Panda Commemorative mintages. There are a lot of fakes out there. You may want to purchase them graded.
