Picked up a sweet Ty Cobb signed photo, great image
Just wanted to share my newest addition. I was high bidder last night at Imperial Sports Auctions here in Texas. It's a gorgeous Ty Cobb paper photo signed in fountain pen with full letter of authenticity from JSA. Cobb was my favorite old school player when I was younger, as his Tigers used to have spring training for a few years down here in my hometown of Waxahachie, TX, and I learned about that as one of my earliest "research" projects as an elementary kid involved the history of my hometown. I used to be an avid reader and always enjoyed reading books and pieces about Cobb.
This picture is the perfect epitome of Cobb and his traits. Very intense stare, precision grip on the bat, and intense focus. I've passed on some of the more recent signed pictures of Cobb that are just portraits or from his older age. Has a nice, vintage fountain pen signature as well compared to his later in life green "marker'. The fountain pen leads me to hope that it was signed during his playing days, but really no way to know that for sure. Great piece of the Georgia Peach.
Not a signed rookie card, but it'll do

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

When I was at college up North, it was like I was speaking a foreign language, but it was just Texan. After a couple years, my roommate from Boston and I would translate for each other when we'd go to restaurants and stuff. LOL

Uh-Oh Mike ... that 1971 date now seems suspicious! LMAO

Not to worry, the LOA says that "date was caused by dyslexia and is actually supposed to read 1917, sincerely. Your friends at Corner Coaches".
<< <i>Very very nice! >>
Thanks guys, I love how you can see like the bulging veins in his neck from his intensity. Very cool.

Nice pickup. Nothing beats the beauty of those vintage pre-sharpie autographs.

Wow, good call. Here's a full one I found on the web. I wonder if my severely trimmed one has enough left that PSA, SGC, or BGS would slab it as Authentic. FKW, thanks for your help in identifying it.
Good luck with it.

Wow, how big were these things?
The photo posted in this thread is framed, so probably hiding most of the border.
congrats
