Sadly, there is no entrance exam or morality clause required for the most important job on earth.

<<<<< 1969 Reggie Jackson Topps rookie card. Card is in good shape but as you can see my 6 yr old idiot son decided to write the letter E in red marker on the top right corner of the card. >>>>>

Maybe the kid had a good reason for doing it?

indeed. presumably, the apple never fell from the tree.
  • I think his son was probably getting into grading El Wino's cards....

So this explains why we've had so many substandard coaches hired for the Detroit Lions.

Send him a note saying you thought it was a rare Jackson variation and were going to make a large bid until you read his description

No, that is not true. The father still uses crayons, the son graduated to markers.

The six year old was just doing what six year olds do. The idiot is the father who didn't secure his collection against falling into the hands of a six year old.

The kid probably thought "E" was the symbol for strikeout, after all it was Reggie Jackson.

"Sadly, there is no entrance exam or morality clause required for the most important job on earth".......... what he said.

I tend to be cynical. There is no six-year-old. Seller created the description to draw attention to the auction through board commentary. Probably doesn't even collect. Probably an older woman that found it at a garage sale.

I think KbKards put it best:

The six year old was just doing what six year olds do. The idiot is the father who didn't secure his collection against falling into the hands of a six year old.

I have a 13 year old daughter and a 10 year old son. Three things I promised myself I would not do is the punish by hitting them, calling them bad names and saying "I hate you" in anger. So far my promise has been kept........and it always will.

In 1989, my customer's 9-year-old son went into his office. He hadn't locked the door when he used the rest room. When he came back, his son laminated the Clemente rookie that he had just bought so it would be "protected."

FWIW, it as a solid Near Mint.

That is a shame image No dad of the year award there.

That 'E' has probably been on the card since before the seller was born. Further, I'd be surprised if he had a kid, because he's probably never been laid.
  • I would never buy from a d-bag like that.
