Update: Definitely not solid gold - only plated in some way. Too bad, have to keep trying.
Went to a local school today in hopes of finding a silver coin. After a toy car and newer coins, a nickel signal came up (12-12 on the e-trac). Looking for the ol' familiar image of Jefferson to show...but instead I get a glimpse of gold?? No way? Could it be? It looks it, but I'm not 100% certain. I don't have my magnifying glass with me as I just moved into a new apartment. There's a small area that isn't quite the right color, but I believe this may be from solder used to repair/resize the ring previously. It's small - definitely a kiddo ring. I'd guess it weighs no more than .5 grams, but if it's gold, it'll make my week. I'll check it out more this weekend. What do you guys think?
