Langbord update

Just checked the case docket.
Today the Langbords attorneys filed papers asking for a court order allowing another attorney in the New York law firm that is representing them to appear before the Philly Court in this case only (it is a Pro Hac Vice application where an attorney not licensed to practice before a particular court seeks permission to practice before that court in one particular case and where that attorney's application is sponsored by a separate attorney who is licensed to practice in that court).
Not a big deal and the application will in all likelihood be approved.
Two days ago the Langbords filed papers asking for permission to file a supplemental memorandum concerning some additional trial exhibits identified by both the Langbords and by the government.
I have no doubt that yesterday the Langbords complied with the court's earlier order that they deliver two copies of their trial exhibits to the court.
Still no court ruling on the pending pretrial motions.
Trial is to start in nine days.

Or more likely just some schmoe we've never heard of.

I did not look at the name of the attorney on the application. I did note that he was recently admitted to practice law in New York. Thus I suspect he is a relatively new lawyer working at the New York law firm representing the Langbords and that he has been assigned to the legal team [lawyers and support staff] in the law firm that is handling the Langbord case.

Thanks,

Would the police under the jurisdiction of the court then have to have a rumble with the Treasury police?
Seriously, who is law enforcement beholden to in such an event? (ie. government vs. government)
In one case I know about, a local judge refused to turn over property contested under litigation to Treasury who was trying to claim it. Treasury backed off, decided they didn't want to take him on.

My thanks as well.
before this case is finally adjudicated.

Oh no. The trial result will just lead to (failed) negotiation to avoid appeals. We still got years, millions in fees, and possibly decades to go.

Due to the small size (relatively) of our sun, it will almost certainly not go Nova. It will, however, go red giant and swallow the earth in a few billion years.

I don't think they make Novas anymore. Can the Sun go Yugo instead???

The Gubmint has them somewhere. I believe they are in NGC holders too. I wonder if they will be in the courtroom for the duration.

This is an interesting question. Do they really need to be present in the courtroom? I bet they'll make an appearance - probably with an impressive posse of watchful g-men.
