    Was it a darkside-related question?

You could have bumped the thread to bring attention to it.

If you posted during a very active time period on this forum, your thread could have easily been overlooked.

Instead you turned hateful and made a general accusation that people on the US Coin Forum are not helpful.

    You are wrong.

I didn't see it either. I try to help when I can. I apologize w/ sincerity.

Can you please post your question again so we may try and get you the answers you are looking for?

He asked the value of a PO1 trade dollar, 1873, iirc, and mentioned he has a gold piece ($5 iirc) that he thinks will come back FR02. don't remember the year.

Hateful, I don't think so. Honest, yes. My question was, PCGS just graded my 1842 Seated Dollar PO 02. Does it qualify for a low ball Registry set? What is it's approximate value? After getting it back, would the BST be the best place to list it? My other coin is an 1881 $10 Gold. I figure it should grade FR 02. Value?

    Thanks again.

PS. I WILL post pictures when the coins get back.

    Only 12 Hours??

This One was posted on March 15th and didn't get a single reply until June 24th after I'd changed the title and ttt'ed it.

A lot has to do with a thread title before folks even open it.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

There is no PO 02. It is either a PO 01 or an FR 02. I don't think there is much difference between the two grades, though, but you can certainly check out auction archives and see if anything comes up. Go to eBay, Teletrade, and Heritage. Those are the places I reference with frequency.

I'd love to see pics of these low grade coins. Sounds like neat coins.

I agree with Lee, the title has a lot to do with the number of responses you'll get. You got your answers, and hopefully you'll stick around.

Could be because no one knows the answer. World coins are a large field, especially the more esoteric stuff. Most of what I collect, I don't expect anyone else to be able to answer questions about. In fact, even though we don't know all the answers, maybe we are the only specialists in our respective areas (you in yours and me in mine).

Most of the posts over on the World Coin Forum are substantive. The same cannot be said of this forum. image

JamesMurray: Its more a small clique than a world coin forum.

Agreed. But the US Coin Forum is also a clique, just a larger one. No need to participate in the cliquishness on either.
