Kelvin Foskey tells the Cherokee Tribune that his son Kelvin Foskey Jr. was playing basketball when he spotted the class ring and scratched it out of the ground.
They decided they'd do their best to find its owner. They found Robert Anderson in a 1960 Dublin High School yearbook, and then found his wife Joan, who now lives in Canton, by contacting relatives.
Robert has since died, but Joan Anderson said she's thrilled to have the ring back.
She said her husband was out looking for his lost ring in 1961 —near the spot where it was found this month — when they first met.
