New addition to the Capped Bust Dime collection...Update 02/19/2012

I was able to locate a really nice Capped Bust Dime
from a fellow Forum member a couple of weeks ago.

Soon thereafter I spotted another coin - which I
sent images of to my Capped Dime expert, Stone.
He gave me the "Thumbs Up" on this - and I placed
a moderate bid on this - which I just found out I won.

I think the detail is great on this Dime - and although only an AU 53 -
it looks a little nicer IMHO. Not as nice as the 1829 above, but nice for
my budding collection.

MFH, both look to be very nice coins to me. Congratulations on their purchase and good luck in future purchases.
Question - How many coins are in the set you are working on? I know nothing about Capped Bust coinage.

    Nice examples!
There is no "AT" or "NT". We only have "market acceptable" or "not market acceptable.

    Very nice!

The Cap Bust is one of my favorite designs. Kudos on the find.

I won this coin at FUN, and although I hadn't inspected the coin in person,
I thought the web site images were acurate enough... they were ... image...
I was after a nicer 1822 in 50 ... but got into a bidding war with a Deep
Pocket collector, so I backed off - as we were getting into stratosphric
    pricing.

Tonight, I was informed that I had won a bid on an 1835 CBD, and this one looks alot nicer, huh ?

Good thing you were only going after the AU 1822 because I was going after the EF (still didn't come close)!

Nice dimes. But I learned in this thread that these are actually "caped bust" dimes. --Jerry

Nice Dimes. Keep focusing on your AU's and stay away from all the VF's. image
