I still love perusing these pages...I reread one that someone had posted when news of my sale was announced. Messydesk had posted the pics of all of them and it was a very humbling thread for me because of the support I got.
That said, I think the coin market is a little soft right now and I would be a buyer of the best coins that could be found. First of all, I always loved buying in a down market. Second, the bifurcation of the market has become chasm-like and that's very bullish for the stuff that's on the right side of the wall. If you have a great eye or can find CAC coins, that's what I'd be hunting. It's the time to look for the best of the sets and ignore the fillers and easy dates. They are always around. I bought almost every great coin in stinky markets! I recall a few times sitting in an auction with no intention of buying anything and seeing low prices would push me to bite at the big ones. I bought my POP2 1927-S MS66 with about 3 minutes before it came for sale! (I knew the coin very well...I had steered the previous buyer to it.) Sold my MS65 in the minute before it came for sale. That was a coup-d'estat!

Hmmm... while it's tempting to show up at Chez Jay for breakfast at 0430, crawling out of bed an hour earlier to make the drive doesn't seem all that appealing.

Ahhhhh..John, I wouldn't start it until 6:00 AM! And perhaps I'll dig a pit and throw a slabbed whole hog in there for some real tasty stuff. Cracklin's too!
