Now just wait for the latest ijjit to chime in and say how they could take some AU-UNC and 'ruin' it to look like that HA! No one yet has produced on this forum, and will not... takes decades of slow wear in the right pocket (?sweaty) and then stowed away for years more to take on the beautiful patina that your Maine has acquired. You can wear them down in a few years and get them into plastic, but they don't look like this GEM for the grade. Bravo again!

<< <i>Great coin ajaan!! I have a similar raw circulated Maine, but mine has a rim ding. It looks like I collect similar coins in that I am looking for F15 and under circulated commemoratives. As you and others have stated, they are becoming more and more difficult to find. I also have a Lafayette like you have that I bought off ebay a year ago and sent to anacs for grading. It came back a PO01. I was incredibly happy. >>
Welcome Steve123!
Nice score on the Lafayette PO-1! Anything under AG3 is rare in that issue.
