Nevermind... that one pictured is actually english even though it says italian on the label.
There was little information known about the sets and unfortunately a lot are mislabeled. If you are buying one you need to see a back scan to tell which version you are getting.
The grading companies now accurately label the UK back from 1987.
I don’t know. It’s always hard to use one data point to make a market. So far only two sellers have been flirting with selling and the highest offer was 8k and wasn’t close to what he wanted.
All I know is the Tyson rookie has left the barn and once that occurs it’s really hard to get the horse back in.
It will be interesting to see if some fresh supply comes out.
It is funny early on when I was buying up a lot I sold off a few. I think I sold one of these for like $250 or $300 and I know I sold an 8 for $450. I sold a bunch of loose ones that would probably grade a 4 or 5 for maybe $125 max. Thankfully I kept what I did!
$1,500 for the Question of Sport 9. I royally screwed this one up selling the BGS 9.5 I bought for $50 for $50 so lost money and sold my duplicate 9 for $80.
I am having a hard time with Watchcount and I can get the screen to come up when I click on true price on EBAY. It is just blank so I can't see what this PSA 6 Italian went for. That said look at the number of interested buyers. There were 8 accounts that made offers on it and it sold in just over a day.

I have been offered $7500 (direct outside ebay) on my Italian PSA 9... thinking on it, but would like to see how that PSA 8 ends up and see if it backs up the $6600+ PWCC comp from a few weeks ago.
Raw copy from the UK at $1,286 with four days to go.
Thanks DPeck - not around much any more these days, but hopefully can be more involved going forward. Hope you're well!
I was happy with the sale - though of course I wish I had back the several other 8s and 9s of this and the Tyson / Hagler foil I sold a few years back (including 1-2 to you I think!). They came from a series of factory sets I had - wish I still had a few more of those!!
I actually had a message from someone after the auction ended who said he forgot to bid, and would offer $2,250 if I sold it on the side to him. I didn't - buyer already paid, and I didn't want to do that - but I was blown away by the interest in this card at that price level!
I bought the foil sticker from you for $425. It was a Pop 2 I believe but now a Pop 7. It dropped at first by a good margin but probably safe to say it will sell for more than the $425 now.
If you don't mind sharing the info on the factory set that would be great. Not familiar with any of it so would love to know.
The factory sets were issued in Europe on a limited basis. They were sold with the sticker album, and the entire set inside of the album. I have seen (and owned) these for the '86 Panini SuperSport UK, and the '87 Panini SuperSport Spanish set. I still own one of the '87 Spanish unopened sets.
Here are pictures of my '87 album / set. You'll note the shrink wrap on the album. When I hold it sideways, you'll see inside that the stickers are held together in stacks of ~20 or so, with about 10-12 of these stacks inside the album.
The problem is that the stickers on the ends of each stack (maybe the top and bottom 2-3) will have little elastic indentations on them. The stickers in the middle are clean, from my experience (which consists of opening maybe 4 of these sets 5 years ago). The sets are packaged consistently from what I recall, so the cards in the middle were always in the middle, the cards on the top / bottom were always on the top / bottom.
The regular Tyson was near one of the ends, so it had very minor indentations on the sides. I think that's what held mine to a 6 (and another to a 5 which I had). The Tyson / Hagler foil was in the middle, which allowed me to get higher grades.
I am tempted to open the '87 set, and believe the Jordan was in the middle (from what I remember from opening 1-2 of these 5 years ago).
The third pic is just a stack of what I still have from the rest of the '86 set, which is basically everything but the Tysons (and a few others).....
I've got some other info on these if there's anything else you want to know....

Thanks dude. Nice to see you posting here.
I had not looked at the first post in a long time and forgot this was from 2011.
The guy who has the PSA 9 listed on EBAY turned down a 15k offer this week. Three of my five PSA 9's came from raw buys and the other 2 from a box from the seller in Cyprus. It is wild that something that was sold on EBAY for $100 can morph into what it has today.
I listed a PSA 8 that I got from him raw too to help pay for a new Birkin for my wife and to see how strong the market is and I have never had any listing with as strong of a following. It has 70 watchers and just passed 1000 page view with two and a half days to go.
I watched Tyson on the Joe Rogan show and the fight that is scheduled in Nov is going to be a blockbuster event if it does take place and he has a movie coming out where he is played by Jamie Foxx so there are some great pop culture moments ahead for him and this bodes well for his collectables.
Crazy the momentum this card has gotten. Seems like just yesterday I thought this was a 25 dollar card and shocked someone was in a bidding war with me up to 75. That someone was none other than dpeck...

I remember that vividly. I stayed up late to win it. It was a low grade copy but as I stated in one of my first posts on this board our bidding war told me there was going to be explosive action and I needed to get more and better ones. There was a boxing seller Martin Bradford who had a small site with some listed and I cleaned him out and bought 5 more minutes after it ended. Some Italian and some UK. I also at a later date bought second year Italian Tyson's from him too.
I was so thrilled when the seller from Cyprus started listing them. Perhaps him seeing the sale price was a motivating factor.
Searching for more information on the Tyson sticker and seeing your message board post is how I found this site and why I created an account to respond and say it was a real bidder on the other side.
The PSA 8 I listed set another new record. With shipping and taxes the final price was $8,287.50 I shipped it out this morning the buyer will have it Monday. The demand for this card is as strong as it appears.
This is pretty cool. The guy who has the Tyson 10 was approached by someone to lower his PSA 9 listed to 18k. He did and just like dropping a piece of red meat in the ocean someone pounced on it. Not the same buyer and already paid.
I also bought from that guy in Cyprus all those years back d..forgot about it and thinking off getting it graded. Here’s a pic but from my phone..any idea on grade
Every sticker I bought from the seller graded PSA 6 or higher. My concerns with this copy are not sure what is going on with upper left corner. Pic looks like there is an issue but perhaps not. Minor white specs in the blue and bottom right corner on back looks potentially touched. Centering is just a touch off with a larger left border. Regardless a big winner.
Let me know what your thoughts are on these issues.
Very impressive price on this PSA 8 signed. $15,100
Was watching it and it was like $4k with few seconds to go..then the hammer bids to make it $15k just blew my mind.
I woke up to pee and I always check my phone. I was like WOW. This was a sleeper heading into the final hour. I wondered if the momentum had slowed and instead it was just the bidders not showing their hand early.
The PSA 8 I sold was ear marked to be cracked and signed by Mike in April at the wrestling convention in Tampa but obviously plans changed. It seems many of the top athletes change their attitude about signing certain items once the market rewards them with big prices. It will be interesting to see if he will keep signing these or charge a lot more.
He was scheduled to appear at Detroit city sports this year but it now pushed back till next summer, tempted to make the drive and get mine signed but who knows if he will make an appearance
What's the consensus on value here? I'm looking to sell. It's the only one PSA has graded. There's only been one previous sale on eBay and it was raw. I think that one would come back a 2 due to print loss on the back. What say ye, Tyson folk?
What is going one with the slabbing of thin cards/stickers and having the discoloration inside the slabs? Has it always been that way or a recent phenomenon?

Like Dpeck said ... “1985” was a error by PSA when they first started grading these. It is not a different card.
There was little information known about the sets and unfortunately a lot are mislabeled. If you are buying one you need to see a back scan to tell which version you are getting.

I don’t know. It’s always hard to use one data point to make a market. So far only two sellers have been flirting with selling and the highest offer was 8k and wasn’t close to what he wanted.
