It's official... Torn medial meniscus. I'll have surgery in a couple of weeks.

    Just in case you miss him, MarkFeld would have scolded you for posting a non-coin topic in the US Coin Forum.

    My Nephew just had it done, the orthoscopic incisions looked larger than normal.

    I had the surgery done about ten years ago. No complications and although the knee isn't 100% I'm still pretty active (no running) but can spend a half hour on an eliptical trainer.

    I tore all 3 hamstring muscules and didn't have surgery....still bothers me to this day

    Hope your surgery is as simple as mine. I've had both knees scoped in the past five years and was running again within six weeks each time. The day after is the worst. Just do your physical therapy and you should be OK.

    Never had the surgery myself (should have a shoulder, knee and ankle checked)... but acquaintances have had it, and of the four I know of, it was very successful and they are glad it was done. Cheers, RickO

    That would be interesting but it's really the bottom half of a snap-together plastic holder

    Several of my friends and fellow runners have had this same surgery done with much success. I am sure that your procedure will go smoothly and you will be back at again in no time!!!

    Stop running and start bicycling. It does wonders for one's knees! Seriously.

    I had the procedure done on my right knee when I was a freshman. In the old days they would filet the knee and leave you with a 6" scar and a week in the hospital.

    Nowadays, it's almost an out patient procedure and you can hardly see the incision.
