Really hate people who don't ship to FPO

Won an auction on ebay and lo and behold they don't ship to FPO. It was stated in their ad and I just didn't read all the way through. They requested a cancellation and I did cancel because it is plainly stated.
But it really disturbs me when people don't ship to FPO addresses. Is it that hard to fill out a customs form? Heck I'd pay an extra dollar or two.

Delivery confirmation is not available to APO or FPO addresses.
It may have worked for you but It sure did not work for me and I ended up on the short end of the stick. Sorry, but no more for me.
Edited to add: You may want to let them know that you're in Japan and not at a remote FOB/COB in the Middle East. It may make a difference. We used to receive packages from the States in 3-14 days... some sellers may be too concerned to ship their items in a war zone. Will the USPS insure packages hit by stray rounds?
But its a whole new world with computers and bar codes and scanners. I haven't had a beef with FPO shipping in ages.
I personally find it offensive when I'm stationed overseas for the US government and can't get a widget because someone won't ship here.
Was just trying to buy a graded 2011 Silver Eagle for my collection. Just one. What a disappointment.

You might want to find new roommates... I've never had anything stolen while in the military. I can't say the same for Corporate America.
Edited to add: As long as the military fights and dies overseas... we'll be the red-headed stepchildren. If and when a war comes to our soil, people will start embracing us. It's politically correct to pretend to care about the military... but very few truly care (aside from friends and relatives).
Edited to edit to add: A seller will lose a dozen shipments in the US and blame the USPS... but if and when they lose ONE shipment to an FPO, the military is F'dU! Sometimes I just don't understand my fellow Americans logic!

I bent over backwards trying to help a guy in Iraq get a digital camera. I wasn't up to shipping mil mail, and those that were charged an arm and a leg for the item. I eventually turned him on to a factory refurbed one from the Manu. for a reasonable price and would ship APO/FPO. He was quite pleased with that solution.
It's not a matter of support as much as it is a matter of fear of loss and fear of the skilled CYA tactics that can be employed with ""missing items.""

This is just a vent. That seller does plainly state that they don't ship to FPO in their ad. So I cancelled the auction immediately at their request.
I just hate not being able to get simple goods and services because I'm stationed outside the US. As the other poster stated most people are Pee Cee about loving the military (I'm a civilian GS employee) but few really do. Right after the yellow magnetic ribbon on the car there isn't much love. BTW. The money for the yellow magnetic ribbons goes nowhere near the military.

I completely understand... I trusted all my peers with live ammo in a firefight... but if they wanted to borrow my camera, it was always a very definitive "NO!"

Yeah I've seen that. Never used it. Don't know anyone that has. Usually don't have a lot of trouble getting things but I've noticed that more and more Amazon is getting worse. All manner of electronics and such they won't ship to FPO. I'm just about done with them as well.
The only business that does not ship to FPO that I will do business with is Apple. Even though they don't ship to FPO they now sell their goods in the military exchanges.
I think I'm just getting old and grouchy.

I know that feeling. I think the thread title is a little over the top. You may be frustrated with but I don't think you really hate people who won't ship to FPO.
Did you try WTB on BST? Your known here so I'm sure that if someone had what you need they may be willing to ship to FPO.
If the worst thing that happens to me on EBAY this year is that someone won't sell me something I want, I'll be pretty durn happy. At least I won't lose any money that way. I'm constantly on guard for the scampsters who WILL cost me money with their fraudster tricks!

1. Don't touch my stuff!
2. All are highly trained in working systems (positively or negatively). It seems that part of the "on the job" training isn't in the manuals, but is universally taught anyway.

The military is identical to sibling rivalries... they're constantly at odds with one another, but if you mess with one of them, you've started a fight with all of them!

Interesting, I did not know that...Those locations must be handled not by the military personnel, but by the host countries postal service.
APO/FPO addresses generally require customs forms. To see an online table of updated APO and FPO addresses and mailing restrictions by individual APO/FPO ZIP Codes, Click here, select “Pull-Out Information” and click on “Overseas Military/Diplomatic Mail.”

John- I agree with you, BUT i will not ship anything without delivery confirmation anymore. I have shipped over 1000 packages over the years and the only claims have come from 4 or 5 that did not have delivery confirmation.
I would ship to FBO,APO or whatever as long as it is not ebay related.
