Collector at heart

Ok, here's the deal, I have a couple of complete sets of ASE's and a nice uncirculated set of Franklins both purchased for not too much above the silver value. I am a collector at heart but I don't want to get too wrapped up in coins whose value is completly tied to it's numismatic value. I have bought and sold lots of common coins and realize it takes many years if at all to see their value increase or even to break even. I like being able to know what I can receive for my ASE's at any time by just looking at the spot prices for the day. I still like the pusuit in trying to complete a collection so I would like to get some ideas of avenues to pusue that will satisfy my collector interests but can be obtained for not too much premium over spot. I am thinking about Fractional Panda's or are their any Silver products that are collectible by date, mints, etc. Thanks,

Jim

I put together a 1oz silver bullion type set from different countries a couple years ago. That was kind of fun and wasn't much of a premium over spot (of course spot was considerably lower then.)

I like 90% silver as by buying small lots here and there, I have almost completed some sets like franklins, walkers, etc.

I'm doing the same thing as well. I have a complete ASE album, minus 2011, a silver roosie and a franklin album too. I also have a partial kookaburra album but they have pretty high premiums so I'm slowly working on that one. I', planning on doing a Washington album here pretty soon. Later on, I might do a Maple leaf one and a Peace dollar. There are a lot of things you can do silver wise that, for the most part, you can get for around spot.
If you want gold, you can try the $5 eagles cjmezz suggested or even $10 or $20 gold pieces.

Thanks for the replies so far. I have a 100.00 bag of quarters ordered from Apmex a few years ago. Never thought of searching them, I figured they would be mostly 1960's only. May give that a try to see if I can get a good start on a dansco Washington quarter set.

That sounds like a good idea and something fun to do! I bet you could get almost half an album filled.
