    Amazing strike on the 1795, most draped bust coins of any denomination show weakness, this coin appears to be fully struck throughout

    Every time I see photos of that Bust Dollar, it reminds me how incredibly rare it is for any silver coin from the 18thc. US to be kept in such a state of preservation. It must have been a presentation piece, I think, to have been handled so reverently.

    The SLD looks perfect to me. I appreciate your posting the photos for the enjoyment & education of all of us!

    Imagine what a bin full of these fresh off the press must have looked like in 1795! Why, today you’d have to go all the way to China to see something like that."

    That's a nice, warm looking Seated dollar ... wow!

    Now, that 1795 is another story. Okay, it looks like one of two things happened:

    1. You convinced Ron Landis to sell you a newly minted, "perfect" 1795 reproduction without the COPY stamp and you scuffed it up just a bit, or;
    2. You finally invented that time machine and bought it directly from the press operator in 1795 Philadelphia.

    Inquiring minds want to know!
