MeteoriteGuy, disappeared completely from the boards?

Wondering if anyone knows if MeteoriteGuy is ok. He ran the PSA Fantasy Football league this past year and I hope he is okay but now 5 months after the league has been over I still haven't been paid his losers share and he was the Commissioner. Never had that happen before getting stiffed by the Commish. Everyone else in the league though paid up in full within days.

-Brendan

EDIT: That was poorly worded, sorry. MeteoriteGuy was the commish and the only one in the league not to pay up. I don't think he did this on purpose and this is why I reached out in this thread to see if anyone knew if he is okay. I don't care about the little bit of cash, I just hope a fellow board member is alright.

Wow, that doesnt sound like Mark. I hope he is doing ok.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the way the OP worded his sentence leads me to believe
that Mark was not the commissioner.

Then again my comprehension has always been lacking.

I won a signed card from him, requested it be sent to someone else and he (Mark) did it.

    Good for you.

After reading the post from when the league was setup, it seems that Mark was the commish, BUT, other players were the ones responsible for payment to the winner.
Did any of the other members send you payment ? Sounds like you had a welcher in your group, sometimes it happens.

not a thread issue but I won the fantasy football league where I work, wasn't a large pool, only $130 and the guy who ran the league stiffed me on it....also the 2nd place person ...not a large amount of money but unfortunately it does sometimes happen. maybe meteoriteguy just forgot he owes the money.

I haven't heard from Mark either, since February

I got stiffed on some HOF football RC cards that I bought from his registry

back when he was redoing his bathroom

Sent him about $80 and haven't received anything, no cards or replies to my messages

Sounds like his skies aren't that clear of late...

I hope those he took $$$ from get what's owed them.

To clarify, Mark was the commish of the league. Mark was suppose to pay me $20 or something similar since I won the league. Everyone else paid up but Mark. So MeteoriteGuy stiffed me $20 and dissappeared even though he was our commish.

I enjoyed talking to the guy a lot, and don't really care about the $20, I just hope he is okay.

Mark always seemed to be a good guy. I can't imagine tarnishing your good name for a few bucks. Hopefully there will be a logical explanation. I really enjoyed his posts.

People disappear for various reasons- One of which might be that he got burned out on cards and needed a break from the forums. I've done that before for a few months at a time. There are several guys who used to post several times a day here that I haven't heard from in all of 2011. Hope you get your 20 bucks, but i doubt thats why he's disappeared.

His handle is "meteorite guy".. Its a bit unnecessary to point to the yearbook fetish. Oddness already established. But he was a valuable contributor to the boards and I hope he's fine.

Running away with a little bit of cash doesn't sound like something Mark would do. Maybe he is having some family issues right now. Hopefully everything is OK in his neck of the woods.

He knows he owes me for winning the league (Have the PMs showing he was waiting to ship out my $20 worth of cards) and then he just disappeared. I really don't think he is the type of guy to stiff anyone and hence why I created the thread and really hope he is ok. Looks like no one has really heard from him since January.

    Real classy ::::eyeroll:::::

People find interests in far stranger things. You collect hockey cards. Does that mean you have some fishy fetish about pictures of men playing hockey? Should I look on the sex offender database for you for that reason? You really are a strange one.
  • Once again a thread taken to another level, this time Mullins5.

Some people just say what they want and don't care about the appropriateness of it. That comment was pathetic.

You should retract your comment right now.

Patrick, whether you meant it as a joke or not, that was not very appropriate to write. And YES, I too think you were calling him a sex offender (even if you were doing it jokingly). How else do you explain the above? Best thing to do, IMO, is to edit the original post.

It's best to stop and everyone think you're the fool than continue to try to pretend to be funny to cover up for the stupid comment you made earlier.

It would've been easier to just admit it was in bad taste and apologize than continue to try to justify it.

I would choose to say it was a joke that backfired.

This may be selfish - but I wish more energy was spent supporting each other in their endeavors.

Since - "WHY ARE WE HERE?"

One key reason is to get support and acknowledgement for our pursuits - since our spouses "usually" don't?

Things like this "is" the reason people take breaks from the boards - I know I have.

As I've said many, many times: We're better than that - we're a good group of people with varied interests which make for darn good displays and discussions.

    Let's celebrate that.

    Hello everyone,

I got very sick about six months ago and ended up in the hospital for about two weeks. This was after being the hospital for over a week and, of course, this all happened at the worst time as all my funds was in remodeling my house. When I got out I did not have internet, and half my utilities were off. It took me a few months to put myself back on my feet and I apologize for that.

The one person I owed cards I have sent a refund plus, the other person on the FF, I have asked for his PP addy. I only had his mailing addy or would have sent him payment before this e-mail.

I am greatly sorry for everything and hope I didnt cause much of a ripple. It wasn't much money, but I understand that is not really the point.

Anyway, feeling much better now. Have most of my strength back and hope to start back on remodeling the house soon.

    Clear skies,
    Mark
