  • In no particular order:

    1. Never buy high-grade vintage raw on EBay without doing some serious homework first.

    2. Never buy anything from greatlakesauctionhouse, or any enterprise founded by Kevin Burge.

    3. Hockey cards are far, far more popular than I would ever have guessed.

    4. The longer you collect, the more important centering becomes to you.

    5. Shipping outside the US, unless you know the buyer, is more trouble than it is worth.

    6. EBay buyers are the Globetrotters, EBay sellers are the Generals.

    7. If you make a post where you are lying about anything that is traceable, someone on this board will catch the lie and call you out on it.

    8. There are a lot of honest, friendly, and helpful people on this forum- and they far outnumber the not-so-honest, friendly, or helpful ones.

    9. Sniping is counterproductive for the buyer. The proper bidding strategy is to hit it hard early on, to announce your presence with authority.

    10. Mike Navarro has a really, really, really, really kick-ass autograph collection.

    << <i>Stone your 17000 posts are not a measure! >>

My posts are a measure IMO.

I've been here for 7 yrs.

I support other people's endeavors and try to help when I can.

I try to post threads that give a view of something different that I collect and provide some insight on that subject.

They're NOT a measure of knowledge or any allusion to superiority but rather a "measure" of - IMO - dedicated participation to this forum.

Post count should NOT imply entitlement or top ranking on a pecking order; it does not validate or ratify the veracity of the poster's comments - one has to EARN that position over time.

Low or high post count: all individual's voice should be heard and respected EQUALLY.

I fear you've read far too much into may request for a "may" vs "is" - I was just trying to prevent an absolute that "may" not have validity - nothing more.
