Pt Rd spread ~$100

I haven't watched the spread much over time, but this $125 or so spread seems very tiny.

If you were a buyer now, would you rather have platinum or rhodium?

There's the liquidity issue and the buy-sell spread issue, both of which makes platinum the more desireable choice for an investor - unless you knew that rhodium was about to take another trip north like it did a few years ago. If I knew that to be a strong probability, I'd be paying close attention.image

As a seller, I'd rather have platinum, more buyers. This has to be considered while being a buyer.

Hard to believe rhodium was $10,000 just three years ago.image

At $1,900 seems like a good play to me. I will not be dipping my toe in it though.
  • I will not go into detail, but I would never invest in rhodium. Platinum over rhodium anyday, and gold over platinum most days.

At current levels...Rhodium would be my pick. Rhodium did not participate in recent PM speculative run-up.
