eBay user kngldwg, you just lost 4 sales
I would have bought 4 of your BIN coins; but, you have me blocked from bidding for reasons unknown to me. Although I realize that people on this forum sometimes reflexively block people for frivolous reasons or when feelings get hurt, I've never personally encountered a block before. Your loss.

The mere fact you would have your tightie whities bound up in a bunch so as to be motivated to post this thread, throwing down an eBay'er by name confirms the seller made the correct decision.
Too many bid retractions?
Too many negatives?
Blacklisted on this or another forum?
There must be a reason?

Sometimes people get self righteous in threads here and block people without good cause. See above for an example for just such a reaction. I have excellent feedback on eBay as both a buyer and a seller.

No offense; but, I find your reasoning to be absurd. I started this thread for two reasons: (1) an attempt to clear up any misunderstanding that might exist with the eBay seller in question, and (2) to point out that overreactions based on forum posts are counterproductive.
<< <i>fyi, maybe he blocked you because you post??? >>
I feel confident that you are correct. Seems like a silly way to [not] do business.
The name is LEE!
<< <i>Maybe you got blocked because of this thread. >>
If so, I'd consider that a poor way to do business, but, to each their own.
<< <i>Maybe you got blocked because of this thread. >>
Confirmation the OP seller did the right thing.
<< <i>Maybe you got blocked because of this thread. >>
Or this one.

Seems like some people reap what they sow. Good for the eBay seller!

That's funny. I've done repeat business with the seller mentioned in that thread since then. Apparently that seller isn't thin skinned and doesn't block people at the drop of a hat.
If forum members want to block people at that drop of the hat, that's their business. However, they should realize that it will eventually cost them sales.
<< <i>Not trying to be wise but i wonder how many sales were made due to the free advertising
That's certainly possible. I have no grudge against the seller in question; so, it wouldn't bother me one bit. I would have PMed the seller, rather than starting this thread, had I known the forum member's handle.

Then how about a thread that says "eBay user kngldwg - if you are a forum member, please PM me."
And leave it at that.
<< <i>Some sales just aren't worth it, if the person has a problematic past I would block them and roll the dice and let someone else buy them. It didn't cost him a sale, it cost him 4 sales a few hours ago, I have no doubt the coins will move, you're not the only buyer on ebay. >>
I don't have a problematic past as either a buyer or seller on both eBay and the BST.

Smart idea. I didn't happen to think of it.
<< <i>Perhaps considering the prior two threads you have started in the past, the seller figured you had a greater possibility of being an unhappy customer and that is seems pretty clear that if you were, you would post it publicly? Seems like the block on you wasn't thought of as losing a sale but rather saving some grief? >>
It's easy to misjudge people. I believe I've returned exactly one coin in the last few years from all sources combined.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

<< <i>I don't have a problematic past as either a buyer or seller... >>
Nobody thinks they're a problem buyer/seller, but obviously, such people exist.
Example: I have a coin listed on eBay at 2/3 current catalog value. I received an offer this morning- 15% of catalog, which I declined. I received a second offer of just under 1/3 catalog along with the comment "I'm not looking to pay retail". I thanked him for the offer, declined it and added him to my blocked bidder list.
I'm sure he's a good guy and all, but I'm not interested in getting involved in a transaction with him. So- I lost a sale? Okay. I can live with that.

This one or the two others
<< <i>I'm guessing this thread didn't turn out like the OP was expecting.
Honestly, I couldn't care less how this thread turns out. I'm far from the biggest fish on this forum; but, I spend close to six figures on coins every year. Anyone who wants to kiss off my business is welcome to do so. They're only hurting themselves.
<< <i>If you spend close to six figures and are a hot buyer, why do you care one seller blocked you, we are not talking about heritage, which did ban me over a misunderstanding but I didn't sit around a complain about it or say "your loss", it seems to me you wanted these coins bad enough to come on here and out them that it is indeed your loss, not the sellers. I have been blocked by an idiot seller on ebay and I just moved on, found a better coin at a better price, such is life. >>
I won't give these coins a second thought. They were far from must have items. However, I would like to see the civility of the forum improve. The group-think-pile-on mentality is better suited for junior high school students rather than adults with common hobby interests. Several of the posts in this thread, and the referenced threads, add absolutely nothing to the discourse. Despite my distaste for the posts of these people, I still wouldn't block them on eBay.

You should worry about your business and let the seller worry about his(or hers). To come crying on a public forum like you did and have in the past is petty and spiteful, and speaks volumes.

I saw no one be un-civil, just state their opinion, where and when was the un-civility?
better suited for junior high school students rather than adults
Usually it is high school kids who post crying and whining, adults, confront the problem head on, with the person involved, not bring it to public forum, this reminds me of the new kids, with braces and the popular guys getting on facebook starting this or that.

Ohhhh... sorry- I missed this. You have lots of money to spend on coins? Where's that a$$-kissing smiley when you really need it, anyway?

WOW close to $100,000 a year on coins? Do you also have a stack of Morgans 12 inches tall?
"You have the coin. And I see that your wallet is as big as mine. Now, let's see how well you handle it."

Unfortunately, I couldn't think of any good "Blazing Saddles" tie-ins. Couldn't have posted much of the script, anyway.

So when 70-80% on Americans think the economy in in the tanker and the president is helping it is a jr. high, wolf pack pile on? If you can't take the criticism, don't post. I am done with this thread and done with you here and on ebay.

No. I've stayed out of many threads where I though people's behavior crossed the line. My thoughts about civility are nothing new.
My opinion? You should have contacted the seller who blocked you and asked why. Not posted it on a forum. Who even knows if they are a forum member here? Kind of spiteful (as other(s) have said) and lacking a bit of maturity.
Regardless, good luck in your ventures and hopefully you send some of that "almost-$100k" over to me!
Cheers!
PS: Also hope you get this issue resolved with the eBay seller. Whether it be in you giving up and moving on or the seller unblocking you.

There's a place for sarcasm in the world. This forum is not that place.
I'm going to bed. Perhaps we can collectively revisit the topic of civility some other time. Goodnight all.

eBay would not let me send the seller an email, otherwise I would have. I couldn't find a handle for the seller on this forum, otherwise I would have sent a PM. My intention was not to be spiteful, but merely to let the seller know that he was disadvantaging us both for what I suspect is no good reason. Good night.

So it's only a group-think-pile-on when a bunch of people disagree with you? Okay then.
