I have not watched much hockey in the last few years. It became so watered down in the last 30 years that I lost interest. I enjoyed it when you had only a small handful of teams and almost all of the players were Canadian. The years of Bobby Orr , Phil Espisito, Ken Hodge, ,Mackensie,Sawchuck, and many more that I cant even remember now. I did watch the final period of yesterday's game though after the Red Sox game.
pitboss - I'm guessing you are not a hockey fan, which is fine (frankly, you are probably in the majority) but IMO you are doing yourself a disservice if you are missing out on this playoff run. The Sox have 100 more games to play this year. The Bruins are in the middle of something they haven't done in 20 years. Time to put the Sox on the backburner for 7 days.
I switch it back and forth but I am primarily a red sox fan. As I stated I was a rabid Bruins fan up until the time they broke the great team up many years ago and have not seen too many games since then .I grew up in Walpole and went to all the Walpole High games in the mid 50's and attended many Bruins games then.
The last time the Bruins were in the finals, there was fog in the Boston Garden. I suspect the climate control in the TD Garden will be much improved over the 1990 finals.
great game with only a minor letdown in the last minute (sound familiar?). I think if the Bruins play with the same level of intensity in the rest of the series, they will do well...some of those shots just have to go in!
Thomas played really well, but Vancouver just keeps coming. The Bruins D turned the puck over too many times in their zone and Vancouver was waiting for it to happen. They transition really well and their forecheck is solid.
21 years since the Bruins' last Stanley Cup finals appearance, and the power in my house goes out in the middle of the first period for 3 hours....damn tornados!

What a day for Boston sports.
