Need help identifying a coin

I was looking through some indian head pennies and came across this 1893 penny. Am wondering if I should submit or not or if it is an error. It is unique in that compared to the typical penny from that time period, it only weighs .0325 oz. So, it's about one third the weight of your typical penny. It's also about one third the width. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Comments

  • It has spent a long time in an acid of some type, thus eating away a lot of the metal and severely damaging the coin. Don't waste your money on submitting it.

I would say it is not a U.S. coin..... likely a replica for a game or some such thing. Cheers, RickO
