From what I was able to find out...
We are still ahead with Silver at an Incredible $47.00/oz.
If you multiply .715 X $47.00 you get $33.60 times face for 90% coin "not silver $'s"
Reg. gas was .20/Gal in 1921 x 33.6 = $6.72 gas...
Still ahead but not by much!

Today.....as I type.....1 oz of silver buys 10 gallons of gas!
Play the silver/gas ratio.
Does anyone know how many gallons of gas an ounce of silver bought in 1921? Couldn't quite work it out from the OP. Or a graph? Might be the start of a new investment philosophy!

OP says 20 cents/gallon in 1921. Since there are .77oz of silver in a 1921 silver dollar, that would work out to 5 gallons per .77oz, or 6.5 gallons per ounce.

At $48.22/oz., a silver quarter contains $8.62 worth of silver, which will buy slightly more than two gallons of gasoline.
