Here's the eBay coin reporting link. You'll have to log in but it's the best way to report counterfeit coins Fake report link

Reported, but the link was a big awkward to navigate.

BTW - who wants to identify why it is a fake? (Seems obvious to me, but may be educational to others.)

    Gee, what shame!

Somebody busted one of those sets of Chinese counterfeit Seated dollars that are offered in a genuine counterfeit Dansco album. This is an example of a Class I Chinese counterfeit, which means that most any collector with an ounce of experience and brains can spot it. The “higher” classes range from scarier to horrific.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Well, with 30 minutes to go the high bid is $229.50

Apparently there are at least 2 ebayers who cannot tell.

Keep up the good work, guys! I rarely cruise the 'bay anymore, but always like to see the posts where fakes are ID'd and Ebay notified.

Of course the bidders think that they could be getting a bargain from some "babe-in-the-woods" newbie seller. This seller, in my opinion, is actually not at all new to ebay, and he knows the coin is a fake.

Unfortunately, as long as ebay allows vermin such as this to be a seller on ebay, then buyers will continue to be ripped off. And shame on ebay for not pulling this auction after it was reported.

It looks like the winning bid got up to $304.00. All the buyer can do now is file a dispute with paypal when he/she gets the coin. I would like to point out that some people might want to purchase an obvious fake for educational reasons. But not me.image
