In general do modern $5 gold commems graded MS 69 sell at melt price?

Common $5 gold are selling for .24187 x spot.

Common $10 gold are selling for .48375 x spot.

PCGS/NGC MS69 plastic adds no value.

depends if you are a buyer or a seller and with whom you are doing the transaction...but basically, yes, at spot or slightly below to slightly above (if you are lucky)

They are now and it's also true for some common $5 PCGS & NGC 70's

Much of my gold stack is in the form of $5 commemoratives. On ebay I could usually purchase them, on average, for about 4% over spot. With rebates I was buying at a bit under spot.

I imagine they would sell at local coin shops for a bit under spot. If you have something other than the common varieties you should do better.

PCGS or NGC slabs don't get you anything more for MS69.
