1931s Lincoln, opinions welcome

I've wanted one of these for some time, finally took the plunge for $95 raw. I'm guessing it at about VF 30 (could be a little bias on my part). It has that chocolatty look.

I agree with VF30. It has a couple of hits on it but I think you still did ok on price.

    keyman64 and robkool,

I appreciated your feedback more than you know. It represents a first for me to have posted a pic of a coin that was good enough to get a grade opinion but also to have my guess at the grade confirmed. It's an added bonus that you like the price I paid. You guys are awesome!

Looks like a nice wholesome original coin, and I agree that it is VF.

Seperate cheek and jaw bone. Full wheat stalks. I'd be inclined to grade it a VF35 or XF40. Nice coin. Congratulations. Shag

VF-20 with a tiny tail wind, but I'd never go VF-30.

The coin has some reddish corrosion on it plus some verdigris. It’s a decent coin for a collector grade circulated set, but since there is not price spread between the circulated grades, what grade you place on it is sort of academic.

Appears to have some honest wear, and the color looks typical for a circulated cent.
A little Acetone wouldn't hurt. You got a fair deal IMO.

Getting that coin made me feel a little like a kid. Some of these more rare cents have had an aura about them in my mind for many years. Some I still have never seen, the Lincoln 09s and 22's for instance. I've only ever seen one 55 DDO. They have a strange effect on me. I need to get out to more shows...!
