ATS is ticking me off...

in U.S. Coin Forum
I sent in an Economy submission to NGC, which was delivered on March 9th. I called to check up on it last week, and was told it was finalized and would ship by Monday (As in 4 days ago). Then Monday I called, and they tell me today. I call today and they tell me the coins have yet to be graded and will hopefully be shipped by the end of next week.


Today is the 27th business day they've had my coins...When I submitted their turnaround time was at 25 days. Obviously now it's gone up, but I'm more annoyed that they kept telling me my submission was being finalized and was nearly ready to ship....Apparently someone scanned it when it wasn't ready...

    My economy rec'd at PCGS on 3/15 is still not graded also...so doesn't seem line there's much difference in time right now either.

    I've had holderitis before too. The symptoms usually clear up in 30-45 days. There is no known treatment yet for this malady. image

    This is an excellent indication of the health of the coin market. Both NGC and PCGS turnaround times for economy are slow. Take this as GOOD news. When you get your coin back, know the market is strong, prices are moving up, and if you wish to sell it, there will be buyers.

    I don't think it's the coin market there is a show going on and alot of graders go to it. Then they are left short handed at the time. image

    Actually, there are a few treatments available, although they can be costly. They're called Standard, Express, and Walkthrough. : )

    Things like this used to upset me, learned to go with the flow, esp./with econo submissions, otherwise its just an ulcer in the making-or worse. Do other things and have more than one project going on and take care of yourself------------------BigEimage

    I have NEVER used economy service with PCGS or NGC. If it's worth getting graded, it's worth getting back in a reasonable time.

    I suspect the frustration is not having the grading results. Once they are posted I find myself able to chill.

    Getting a different story every time is not cool. But complaining about it over here will have little to no effect IMO.

    I am sure other people complain as well, but I have never seen so much whining and complaining as I do on this forum. If it isn't about grades (time involved, right grade/wrong grade, graders parentage etc) then it is ebay or dealers or B&M's. It is life people, deal with it. Cheers, RickO

    Getting incorrect information repeatedly over the telephone should not happen. Having to wait months for Economy submissions to be returned seems to be the norm these days.
    I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

    This is what I'm annoyed about, not necessarily the time it's been taking. The woman on the phone told me today that someone scanned my coins in as being finalized on accident, which is why I was told they would ship so soon a couple times.
