Today's spot price equals $7.35 in a 90% silver quarter. Are these 90%?

Yes, The sets that I'm asking about are from the 10 year run of sets.

Multiply the number of silver quarters x $7.35 .... that's the bullion value for your set. As far as what the numismatic value is, I have no idea. Suggest you check out eBay's completed auctions to get an idea.

The 1999 silver quarters are worth much more than melt.

Surprising that many recent proof silver quarters, dimes, halves and commems are going for melt, while proof Silver Eagles have hit the $70's.

Yeah, what's up with that? I was in line at a local B&M Wednesday and a guy came in with 700 of them, yeah 700, and wanted to unload them all.
    He got $64/coin.

image Been buying the 5 coin set for locally around $135-140 pretty consistently even with Spot over $40/oz now.

No, respectfully I disagree. Somewhat more, more than slightly more, but not 'much' more. And declining as they have for some time. Soon to be melt.

Sold mine to Gerard. I'd suggest that you do the same.

If modern silver proof quarters are actually being melted, they will eventually become much scarcer than their mintage figures indicate.

Then you sold your 1999 silver quarter set below market value....as long as you are happy with the price thats all that counts, I guess.
  • I bought 16 sets of 2010 silver proof ATB quarters last month and cracked them out to make 2 rolls. They averaged $33 set/ea delivered from the mint, which was right at melt at the time. So for $264 a roll? Well they're already up to $290 melt.

Now when silver quarters melt at $10/ea? Then I'll be dancing with $400 rolls! image
