Proof Buffalo price check

What can I expect as a retail customer to get at a coin show from a dealer for proof buffalo PCGS FS PR69 DCAM 2007? What about a raw proof 2006 with all the boxes and paper work? The price guide says $1630 (I think that's low)

What about a 2010 NGC 70 Early Release Eagle Regular strike? Price guide says $1850 for a PCGS (I think that's high)

Spot +$30 to 60 will be your most common offers at a show.

True ... except for the 2008-W

Most Buffalo's are treated as bullion with only a minor mark-up to spot. Same for graded ones.

Didn't they use to have a markup 1 year ago? I guess that evaporated

So they are not worth pursuing in the future considering their large premiums when you buy them

April 1 greysheet 1 ounce PROOF gold bufallo bid prices:

    2006...$1,465
    2007...$1,465
    2008...$2,500
    2009...$1,465
    2010...$1,465

Thats below melt now for all but 2008, but expect to get melt plus a small premium.

edited to add the word PROOF.
  • Personally, I now only want buffalo proofs with the box and paperwork. I would have to discount for the plastic, especially PF69, which essentially they all grade at.
