I've only been looking for these for five years

I knew I had them, Just didn't know where. Turns out my sister was pushing my pet peeve button this whole time by not really searching the SDB. . A quick glance and a 'nope, not there'. Now I've got some time to think up some sweet payback.
Wonder what I should do with them. Give to family I figure, they were grandpas and we split all else

Cool. The big one would look good on a chain.

Do you know where the nuggets came from ? They don't look like typical CA or Alaska nuggets.

This group is about eight oz. of .925 near Crown King Az. nuggets from a dredging/hydraulic project in the 70's. When I was 8 or 9 grandpa would do his monthly score at the AZ Coin Gallery and sell the 10oz gold loafs and a 1000 oz bar of 90% silver- 10% gold. Took three of us kids to carry those beasts.

Sure wish we'd kept just one. I always got payed in a 10oz bar of silver for the gopher jobs I did with him during summer. Built up a nice stash and nailed the peak when I sold in 79. I remember the day before so clear. The paper listed the silver spot in the headline news. I grabbed the phone and made a long distance call to Grandpa. Told him the scope and the phone went silent. All I could hear was the long draw on his smoke followed by the raspy exhale, then a quick 'I'll be down tomorrow, be really. I was 14, he was 67, best friend I've ever had.

I may spare a nugget, but spot is not an option

  • Just curious, if I was going to start buying nuggets to accumulate gold, what would be a fair price for an average size nugget?

I am thinking more of a 1-10 gram size not some rock/boulder.

Price in grams if anyone has any info.

    Thanks!

  • From watching ebay are reading a little on nuggets, i think they usually sell for 60-80.00 a gram.
