Radio shows and PM's

I always had Alex Jones pegged as a profiteering so and so , however lately it's noticable his show is promoting Gold and Silver , actually selling it. My ol'lady listens to his show upstairs as i can't stand the man or his incessent warblings.
She is quoted $390 for a full british sovereign which seems fair , but it's money upfront and the coin in 6 to 8 weeks , now if that isnt red flag enough he tryed selling Morgans to her telling her they are 75% silver.Now..i know it wasn't Jones she spoke to , but one would think they would do minimal research before offering whatever it is they have.
She actually stood there and doubted me saying it's 90% , prepared to believe somebody she has never met on the strength of a say so.

I don't drink , quit 2 years ago , but i see now why i did in the first place.

  • There's a slew of them, Glenn Beck, Alex Jones, and on and on.
Beck while getting some good info out to the masses, lies and is an entertainer, nothing more. Beck lost me when he said some horrible things about 9-11 victims families several years ago.
Jones is exceptional for exposing a lot of government lies and abuses, nationally and on a global scale. Jones lost me since he can not let any guest being interviewed talk, he always talks over them. Also, the endless ranting and fear mongering. Plus, he and his business interests have ties to some of the lawyers that represent the Federal Reserve. Something about this seems off to me since he is one of the few saying 'End the Fed'.

My wife make mistakes on hearing/listening all the time when it comes to metals. (well, other things, too!)

Perhaps, and I'm not sticking up for the bloke, he said they contain 75% of an ounce of silver.

Not far off and that would make more sense.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, this thread ain't finished yet.

I hear this yahoo, Jan Mickelson, all the time on WHO out of Des Moines promote American Bullion, which I know as a bullion seller without listed prices.

Jan Mickelson / American Bullion promo page

Jan Mickelson's son is some sales exec for American Bullion. Besides the 50,000 watt WHO radio promos, American Bullion sets up @ the Iowa State Fair and does its business.

A guy at work bought three AU Saints from American Bullion last year @ the fair for $2100 ea.

American Bullion, Jan Mickelson is right up there with the New York Mint recently discovered American gold coin hoard in Europe that gets promo'd to the death of me.
  • I live in DSM, and usually like Jan's shows, however I did get sick to my stomach when he started pushing gold and then telling everyone his son works there...he must be pretty confident that his son won't ruin his name in town. As annoying as Bradshaw on 98.3
theres no such thing as a stupid question is there?

One of the darker sides of the coin business are these radio ads and the telemarketer sharks. Their "select" clients often pay double or triple what reputable coin dealers sell the exact same coins or bullion for. Yes, the telemarketers will point to one or two or three items that they might sell at competitive prices, but those are the loss leaders to get the people in the door. Once they are in, the up sell comes and the cash register rings for these companies.

I dont want to start false rumors but it began to occur to me that these radio guys as well as the u-tube pundants who are saying buy buy buy no matter what the price, may very well have a vested interest in the sales increasing in gold and silver bullion.

The prices of silver coins are at levels where I stopped buying because the premium online and e bay are 6 or 7 dollars a coin. now I undestand that the mint charges their network spot plus $2 a coin so spot plus $4 would seem fair to me but what do I know.In any case I had been busy buying over the last year so I can sit and wait.

Uhhhh, may want to dump that newspaper. That's not what happened. And how does this TV
personality have anything to do with the OP's radio commentary? Just political I presume.

The cable network and Beck's production company, Mercury Radio Arts, announced jointly Wednesday that they will "work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the FOX News Channel (FNC) as well as content for other platforms, including FOX News' digital properties," according to a release. A final date for Beck's eponymous 5 p.m. weekday program has not been set, but it will cease production later this year, the statement said.
