PM guys, If the U.S. Federal Government comes knocking tomorrow...

Or any other day in the near future, and asks for you gold or silver, what recourse do you as an American have?

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9

  • Really?

Where, in specifically designated 'First Amendment Zones'?

If you think protesters have a chance...

So what do you do when the time comes when they ask for your property?

I just don't see it happening.

We all know which types of politicians might be in favor of such actions, but who would carry out the orders? The politicians? Heck no. I really don't see any law-abiding members of the military or law enforcement carrying out such orders. Perhaps some SEIU or AFSCME hired goons might be sent out, but as Will posted, if they did more than knock they would be met with a lot of lead...

None. Used to maybe but that was long before anyone here was born.

Won't happen. There's more in it for them if they heavily tax all PM transactions. If they want to freeze all holdings right where they are all they have to do is make the tax so high that no one could afford to buy or sell. In addition they can knock prices down with taxes.

"Interest rates, the price of money, are the most important market. And, perversely, they’re the market that’s most manipulated by the Fed." - Doug Casey

  • Too bad the majority of transactions are cash based... and therefor I do believe there is a lot of "hiding" going on.

Don't kid yourself , Kent state taught us all a lesson in that dept i should think.
  • Some pretty interesting comments so far.
As for the one about conspiracy theories, I simply call it history. And sometimes history repeats itself.
That term is too loosely used today and no one really has a clear understanding of what it means. Its dismissive and circumvents our ability to communicate with each other on matters that sometimes are touchy.
I surely do not put it past our government to try to confiscate PM's if they wanted to do so.
And no, none of you sold me your metals at cost. image If you did, Id be on an island somewhere making a margarita.
